PERSONAL SUPPORT. CLEAR RESPONSIBILITY.

Know the person.
Understand the plan.

01

A familiar Guide

A personal introduction, a named Guide and an agreed backup. Know who to contact, how to reach them and when they are available.

02

A plan for the next step

Education, questionnaires, education checks and Guide conversations belong together. Your plan identifies what is due, what needs discussion and who follows up.

03

Practical help that follows through

Your Guide helps coordinate records, appointments, travel, equipment and recovery arrangements within your agreed service scope. A request stays open until its outcome is confirmed.

EDUCATION + YOUR FEEDBACK + A CONVERSATION

Support that moves with you.

This is the proposed contact framework. Your actual dates and frequency are agreed with your practice and Guide. If your surgery date or needs change, your plan should change with them.

Review your practice’s arrival, discharge and contact instructions.
Share & check
Confirm your understanding of the practical plan and identify questions still awaiting a clinical answer.
Your Guide

04Settling into recoveryAt the agreed check-in after surgery

05Building confidenceAt your scheduled recovery milestones

Your Guide
Reach out at agreed milestones, follow through on unresolved arrangements and help prepare questions for your next visit.

What should be clear: Your reported progress and open questions inform the next conversation.

06Planning what comes nextBefore the agreed support end date
Learn
Review the ongoing follow-up plan provided by your practice.
Share & check
Complete any final assigned questionnaire and share feedback about the service.
Your Guide
Review outstanding items, confirm who owns continuing follow-up and explain any available continuation options and costs.

What should be clear: You leave with a clear handoff, contact information and no unexplained change in support.

Questionnaires and education checks help identify what needs discussion. They are not clinical tests or medical clearance. Follow your clinical team’s instructions.

The details someone needs to own.

Records and office visits

Carry forward information with your permission, confirm receipt and review, and arrange the office handoff. Participating offices follow the TrueKnee no-clipboard standard.

Equipment and getting home

Help coordinate equipment, delivery, transport or accommodation when included in your plan. Supplier availability and any separate costs must be confirmed.

Therapy and additional support

Help connect you with therapy and other resources recommended by your clinical team. Coordination does not mean those services are included in the Guide fee.

Family or caregiver involvement

With your permission, include your chosen support person in practical planning and agreed communications. Confirm what may be shared and whom we should contact.

THE TRUEKNEE APPROACH

Five foundations. One connected experience.

  1. Planning

A plan that starts with you.

Your goals, questions and existing imaging inform a conversation with your surgeon about the options appropriate for your knee.

  2. Surgical Technique

A clear explanation of the approach.

Your surgeon explains how the proposed technique aims to restore native anatomy, its alternatives and its limitations. Treatment decisions remain with you and your surgeon.

  3. Data

Progress that is recorded and discussed.

Your existing questionnaires and reported progress support follow-up conversations. We reuse saved information where possible. Any research participation has its own permission process.

  4. Recovery Protocol

    Know what comes next.

Education, preparation steps, questionnaires and follow-up are organized in one timeline, alongside your clinical team's instructions. Your next steps and agreed contacts are made clear.

  5. Guide service

A person to help you follow through.

Your named Guide helps with practical arrangements, access to information and questions for your practice. We identify the next step and who is responsible for follow-up.

A simple handoff for your practice.

Practice introduces. Explain the optional support and connect the patient through the agreed referral process.

Guide coordinates. Explain scope and costs, arrange onboarding and maintain the agreed contact plan.

Clinical team directs care. Set clinical instructions, review planning information and answer medical questions.

Before enrollment opens, the practice and Guide team need agreed contacts, coverage and escalation arrangements. This page describes the service standard; it does not activate a referral or enroll a patient.

Questions worth answering.

Will my Guide contact me, or do I always need to ask?

The proposed standard includes proactive Guide conversations at agreed milestones. Before support begins, confirm your actual check-in schedule and contact options. Online reminders and questionnaires support those conversations; they do not count as a completed personal check-in.

How long does support last?

Your start and end dates must be stated in your service agreement. A fixed duration has not been committed on this page. Changes to the surgery date should prompt a review of the support schedule and any effect on fees or coverage.

What if I choose not to enroll in Guide support?

Guide support is proposed as an optional service. Your practice should explain the standard clinical care and contact routes available to you separately from any paid support. Review that distinction before deciding.

What if my Guide is away or a request is not resolved?

Your agreed backup contact should take over with the relevant context. If a step is delayed, ask for the named owner, the next action and the next update. The service plan must identify how to raise an unresolved concern.

Who answers medical questions?

Your surgeon and clinical team interpret images, give medical advice and make treatment decisions with you. A Guide helps connect you to them. Guide messaging is not an emergency service; use your practice’s urgent contact instructions or emergency services when needed.
