YOUR 3D PLAN

A plan built from
your own knee.

Every True Knee begins with a scan of your knee, ordered by your surgeon. From it, a 3D plan is made in your knee’s own frame of reference, then reviewed and approved by your surgeon before surgery. Here is what one looks like.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

The plan, as your surgeon approves it.

Your copy shows the exact version your surgeon approved: your angles as they are and as planned, the implant parts and sizes, what the plan was built from, and your surgeon’s explanation in plain words.

“I used a CT of your knee to plan the size and position of each part of the implant before surgery, matching the angles and tilt of your own knee rather than a straight-line target. The cut on the shin bone is planned from the cut on the thigh bone.”

Planned from a CT scan of the knee, measured in the knee’s own frame of reference.

This plan is a preoperative proposal approved by your surgeon. What is found during surgery may require changes, including implant sizes or positions.

A scan taken lying down measures bone; it does not show how your knee carries your weight when you stand, which your surgeon assesses separately. Your real plan shows your own numbers and your surgeon’s own words.

HOW YOUR PLAN IS MADE

Four steps. One approved version.

  1. Choose a True Knee surgeon.

Every True Knee surgeon has agreed to the criteria that uphold the Standard. At your consultation you decide together whether a True Knee fits.

  2. Your surgeon orders the True Knee 3D scan.

A CT scan of your knee, taken at an imaging centre that follows the True Knee scan protocol and billed like any other imaging, separately from the program.

  3. Your plan is built in your knee’s own frame of reference.

Planning software measures the angles of your thigh bone and shin bone, the slope of your shin bone’s top surface, and the size and position of each implant part from your own bone, not from the angle an X-ray happened to be taken at. Your surgeon reviews the plan, changes what needs changing, and approves one exact version.

  4. You receive the approved plan.

The exact version your surgeon approved, with a plain-language explanation of what was planned and why, in your own True Knee record. A changed scan or a changed plan is always a new version.

The 3D plan begins with the first True Knee surgeries. Nothing on this page is a promise of a particular clinical result; your surgeon decides from an examination, and the plan is one input to that decision.
